A Boho Beach Wedding at The Cushman House Block Island

It has been years since I’ve been to Block Island, I haven’t actually gone there since I was a kid and we took a Girl Scout day trip to the beach! I hardly even remember that trip, but I will always remember this one. Katie and Seth were planning their wedding for 2020, when 2020 had a mind of it’s own and forced so many couples to cancel and re-schedule. Thankfully I was available for their new date and ready to sail away!

The Cushman House is a beautiful historical Victorian home with a wrap around porch and sweeping views of the ocean for as far as you can see! Down a path of flowering trees, a White Way of Delight if I must say, the path to the beach rolls up a dune to the ceremony site on the beach. From the scene decorated with gorgeous florals from Painted Rock Flowers and rentals From Uniquely Chic Vintage, to the perfect temperature and shining sun, this really was the best day ever!

I love a good first look, and Seth’s reaction to seeing Katie in her wedding gown was definitely one for the books. We then snuck away for some seaside portraits and so the couple could see their ceremony set up before the guests arrived. The day was full of love, laughter, friends and of course their adorable doggies! Congratulations again, Katie and Seth, and thank you for having me sail away with you!

An Engagement Session at World's End in Hingham Massachusetts

After re-scheduling for rain I finally got the chance to shoot Laurel + Andrew’s engagement session at World’s End Park in Hingham, Massachusetts. Not only is it the cutest seaside town, but the park has so many great locations for photos and getting cozy! As we walked and explored the park, we had a great conversation that allowed to me really get to know these two, which is why I love engagement sessions!

Laurel + Andrew met during college winter break while at Toby Keith’s at Gillette Stadium. It was the end of the night and she was closing her tab when Andrew caught her eye (he wasn’t even planning on going out that night, talk about fate!) They were introduced by a friend and hit it off right away, setting up their first date for right after the holiday. The funniest part of their meeting was when he first texted her, he got her name wrong (typing Lauren! Oops!) but on their first date their conversation went on all night and the rest is history.

6 years lated Andrew surprised Laurel with the most beautiful proposal (and gorgeous ring!) and a celebration with family. Shortly after getting engaged, Laurel was not feeling well one day and ended up in the hospital suffering a stroke. Thankfully he was by her side the whole time. I truly believe in the marriage vows of “in sickness and in health” because these trying times are when you most need the person you love by your side. She has made a full recovery now and both are excited for their upcoming wedding!

Glastonbury Country Club Wedding | Abba + Christian

Glastonbury Country Club Connecticut wedding with soft greens and whites

It was a warm summer Saturday in July, with dangerous thunderstorms predicted across most of Connecticut. It had already rained a little on our way to Glastonbury, and everyone was a little worried storms would ruin the gorgeous outdoor set up in front of the gazebo. But just before the ceremony was about to start, the chairs were dried and the clouds loomed further away. As much as I love a good first look, Christian’s reaction to Abba walking down the aisle and seeing her for the first time in her wedding gown was just PRICELESS! What love was in the air!

Right after the touching ceremony, clouds coming in hot, we got right through requested family formals and breezed through some fun couples portraits. As soon as we got them inside and started setting up for the grand entrance and dancing, the skies lit up and rain poured down for hours through the giant floor to ceiling windows of the reception room. What a show, and what luck it held off for all of the outdoors celebrations!

Congratulations Abba and Christian! I wish you a lifetime of happiness (and whisky shots)!

They basically got each other the SAME wedding gift!

Lake Pearl Wrentham Wedding | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer | Heather and Connor

When I say I end up with a lot of clients as friends, Heather and Connor are no exception! What fun we had at this wedding at the gorgeous Lake Pearl! The start of summer wedding season and beautiful weather was upon us. I was so excited to get to the bridal suite and give Heather a big hug and exclaim over her gorgeous dress! We headed to the garden gazebo for their first look. Heather’s excitement as she snuck up behind her groom was infectious as were their adorable looks of joy as they exclaimed over one another in their wedding finery! Though it was a little breezy, the ceremony was absolutely gorgeous on the shores of Lake Pearl, with boaters yelling congratulations throughout the day!

Congratulations Heather + Connor, I’m so glad to have met you and got to be the one to photograph your special day! (P.S. Poppin’ bottles, taking shots!)

A Valentine's Day Wedding | Galentine's Celebration | Newport Wedding Photographer

I thought now would be a good time to get caught up on the blog as I kick off my 2019 season which is jam packed full of glorious weddings! This styled shoot collaboration was in my favorite seaside city of Newport, Rhode Island at Queen Anne’s Loft. Scales and Shells Newport Rhode Island | Half Shell Bridal Shower

A bridal shower is such a fun time for couples! A brunch with friends, great food, and of course mimosas in the quaint seaside city of Newport. Our last shoot at Scales and Shells highlighted the upstairs, but today we are looking at the downstairs, called the Half Shell. Equipped with a private bar, lots of tables, colorful walls and big windows, the Half Shell is the perfect nook for any celebration!

Scales & Shells Newport Styled Rehearsal Dinner | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer

Scales and Shells has a beautiful upstairs called UpScales which perfect for dinner and events such as this wedding rehearsal dinner! In perfect Newport wedding fashion, Scales and Shells is tucked in the downtown area of Thames Street right by the water. Up the stairs is a beautiful, bright and airy space with tables to seat 40 and a private bar. I photographed this event and all it’s details on a sunny morning where the light just sang! The food that came out was the most delicious, and I know because after working you better believe I was all about eating! For bar snacks they had olives, grissini and pistachios. Appetizers were mussels au gratin, cod, bacon and potato bites with dipping sauce, a rosemary and caramelized onion and gorgonzola pizza and a bibb salad. The main course featured swordfish with lobster and asparagus butter and pan seared cod with a warm tomato vinaigrette. Can you say YUM?! Desserts were the most adorable and Newport themed cookies from Newport Sweet Shoppe! I have to say, this was definitely one of the most delicious shoots I have had to date! And speaking of dates, guess who is being wined and dined there on Valentine’s Day?!

A modern romantic wedding done on a farm where horses and other animals roam, is a quintessential Fall wedding in New England and can be done just as stylishly as a mansion affair. Pomositticut Farm in Hudson, Massachusetts is tucked away on a winding country road where the Fall leaves create a canopy through the woods. Fall in New England is a magical time and the perfect time of year for weddings. Oh, and did I mention Moose the puppy?! Fur babies are always welcome in front of my camera!
