There are a few times in your life when you meet someone truly special that encourages you and makes you feel like you can take on the world. That’s how I always feel leaving Jeanette’s Yin Yoga class! I have been doing yoga for some time now, but as a teacher she is just amazing! I have some commitment issues with fitness classes but hers I would never miss! Before class we would sit and have some girl chat, and she would tell me about Mike and his amazing boys and how she couldn’t wait to have a family with them. So I was super excited and honored when he popped the question and she asked me to photograph their wedding!

The night before their November wedding we were supposed to get a dusting to an inch of snow. Well that turned into SIX inches (I measured!) and along with the Fall colors remaining the grounds of Roger Williams Park outside the Casino were just gorgeous! After an intimate wedding ceremony inside the Casino, Jeanette and Mike were adventurous to run outside with me just before sunset to capture some unique “snowliage” couples portraits. I was so happy to be able to capture this special time in their lives as they get married and are expecting their first little boy together. Congratulations Jeanette and Mike!!

Providence Fall Engagement Session | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer | Danielle + Kyle

I knew the city of Providence was special to Danielle and Kyle as soon as I heard that they not only had their Spring of 2019 wedding planned in the city, but also wanted their engagement session to take place there! Danielle and Kyle met in Providence, on the East Side, so it seems fitting that their engagement be celebrated with the city skyline in the background!

Danielle is a teacher and loves running, Kyle coaches football so naturally they are at home outside. They love the sea and love the city so we started in Prospect Park and walking around the neighborhood, then moved down to India Point Park for a walk by the river. I’m so excited for their Providence Public Library this coming April! Congratulations Danielle and Kyle!

The Dorrance Wedding Providence | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer | Melissa + Charlie

When Pringles are passed around to guests at a wedding, joyfully erupting with laughter during a speech, you know there is a good story behind it!

I met Melissa when we worked together in corporate and became lunch buddies and friends. Melissa and Charlie moved to Rhode Island from New York City for work and to start their lives close to his family. Before they met, Charlie was infamously dubbed the “Snackman of NYC” after breaking up a subway fight without violence, hence the Pringles!

The timeless elegance of The Dorrance, and Melissa’s classic beauty and family heirloom ring made this wedding a timeless affair. After sharing a first look outside, we headed over the the Arcade for family portraits and into an alleyway Melissa found full of rusted metal beams and graffiti! When I say I go anywhere for my couples I mean it, so amazing alleyway it was!

Connecticut Engagement Session | Connecticut Wedding Photographer | Christine + Jeff

Early in October, as the leaves were just starting to change and the air was just starting to turn crisp, I met Christine and Jeff and their adorable dog Jet at a private farm in their town just minutes down the street from their home. They had driven by the farm many times, and thought it would be a perfect setting to take their engagement photos. We all made friends with the owner, who so kindly welcomed us onto his property, and told us all the best places to explore and had one of the most beautiful golden sunsets. Jet was the perfect model! Tagging along and sniffing everything out, he perfectly posed for me several times when I asked him “Jet do you want to look at the camera?!” The perfect model, and the perfect Fall session to start off my October!

Charter Oak Country Club Wedding | Hudson Massachusetts | Haley + A.J.

Good morning friends, do I have a special wedding to share with you today!

Haley and A.J.’s wedding was the perfect day to kick off our Fall season. It was on a beautiful day where the rain stayed perfectly south of Charter Oak Country Club so Haley and A.J. could have the best day ever! A girl after my own heart with pastel florals and details, to their adorable customized golf balls (since they are avid golfers), to the smiles and love from their family and friends.

Haley’s father had tears of joy in his eyes as he welcomed his new son to his family, a moment he had been waiting a long time for. His smile lit up the entire room, bringing those tears of joy to everyone else who was there to celebrate the union. Haley’s father said that, while Haley taught figure skating that she should never date a hockey player. Well they met while he coached and played hockey and her Dad got a good laugh out of how perfect they are for one another as he welcomed A.J. to the family and everyone celebrated their love!

Haley and A.J. you two are definitely something special and I am so thrilled to have captured your wedding day, and I loved getting to spend more time with the two of you as you celebrate your love! I will always remember being in the car with you guys, freezing after our super fun engagement session, talking about how bad we all wanted pizza and beer! I hope you love these memories as much as I did capturing them!

Newport Cliff Walk and Fort Adams Engagement Session | Heather and Connor | Rhode Island Engagement Photography

This was an engagement session I was looking forward to for a while! Ever since I met Heather and Connor earlier this year I knew we were going to have a great time together. They are fun, adventurous and love beautiful locations. Newport is always one of my favorite places for sessions, especially by the Cliff Walk. There are so many beautiful places along the ocean and behind the mansions that photograph beautifully and are bright and beautiful! I feel like I’ve stepped right into Downton Abbey! After the Cliff Walk we headed over to Fort Adams for a change of seaside scenery, to explore by the piers, and catch that iconic Newport Bridge sunset! Nappatree Point Westerly | Melissa + Kevin | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer

The threat of rain and summer thunderstorms never deters me from being inspired or excited on a wedding day or inspirational shoot. While rain threatened off shore and over Connecticut, it brought some amazing clouds and a breeze to Nappatree point in Westerly. The area is a beach and conservation area that stretches out in a little peninsula at the very tip of Rhode Island. It is full of luscious tall grass, birds and wildlife, an amazing jetty, and a harbor of sailboats. What more could a Rhode Island girl want? Actually, maybe puppies, but they were there too, and we just couldn’t let one by without letting this doggy loving duo show them some love! Stunning florals and a lace shift dress made this the perfect bohemian elopement affair. After the sun hid behind the clouds for good, we enjoyed some amazing gelato and headed out just as a thunderstorm (and flash flood warning) broke out, but gave us some amazing sky before. Summer may be nearly over, but I’ll always love a couple that wants to run away to the beach to elope! #willstopforpuppies

Seaside Portraits | Rhode Island Couples Photography | Sabrina + Mike

Shortly after starting to chat with Sabrina to plan her couples session with her boyfriend Mike, I knew this was going to be one of my favorite sessions! Not only did she want to glam it up, but he was wearing his Coast Guard blues and....they wanted to bring their tiny Frenchie puppy, Eloise! If you ever want to bring your furry friends to your session the answer is always yes! Since our first location was a no dogs allowed kind of place, they had some friends come hang out with Eloise while we took some sunlit field photos, then headed to the nearby beach for the last of golden hour. Then one of Sabrina's dresses hadn't come in time for the shoot and we decided (since we're neighbors and all) to do a quick couple shots down by the beach just minutes from our houses. Well, I can't stop photographing these cuties, so it turned into a little more than that! Not only are these two extremely photogenic and adorable, but they were up for an adventure and I feel like I left the session with some new friends. Speaking of friends, it turns out we're practically neighbors too, so I see lots of doggy walks in our future!

The Bohlin Newport Wedding | Cassi + Mike | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer

On the lovliest of June days, Cassi and Mike tied the knot at Holy Name Church in New Bedford, followed by a seaside reception at The Bohlin in Newport! What better backdrop for a wedding than views of the Newport Bridge and harbor, as well as the feeling of love in the air. The way Mike looked at Cassi all day, the tears of joy, and the beautiful connections between family and friends are what makes weddings so special. From the florals by Carlone's, the amazing looking cake, and the sparkly details of the table numbers, this is sure to be one happily ever after! I was excited to work with Peter and his team from Amylon Productions, they were so considerate and easy to team up with for those must have shots!

Newport Harbor Hotel Wedding | Castle Hill Lighthouse Wedding | Victoria + Brandon | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer

On the most beautiful Spring day in April, in the lovely seaside town of Newport, Victoria and Brandon tied the knot! The day was warm and sunny and Victoria looked stunning in her blush shimmering dress. These two High School sweethearts had their first look at one of my favorite locations, the Castle Hill Lighthouse and a seaside ceremony at the Newport Harbor Hotel. Boston Seaport Engagement Session | Christopher Columbus Park | Brianna and Brian

This past winter I partnered with The Boston Bride and The Newport Bride to give away an engagement session to one lucky couple. I love doing things like this, because our New England wedding community is so talented and it gives us a chance to work together to serve couples and also support each other in business. 

I was so happy when Brianna and Brian won my session! When she commented on the post to win, I felt like we connected right away and they would be a perfect couple to win! They got engaged at Christopher Columbus Park in Boston, so what better place to capture their engagement?! We started with some drinks at Tia's on a warm Spring day, and then proceeded over to the bench where Brian proposed. How cute are they! Congratulations Brianna and Brian, I had so much fun with both of you!!

A Winter Engagement | Massachusetts Wedding Photographer | Moore State Park| Paxton MA | Haley and AJ

What a winter wonderland we have had this season, and it seems like it's still coming! Haley and AJ met while he was coaching hockey, and she was teaching ice skating. The perfect setting for them was an engagement session after the most perfect snowfall on a frozen pond (don't worry, we made sure it was safe)! When they asked to bring along their adorable Beagle pup as well, I just couldn't be more excited! Despite some frozen toes, we had an absolute blast and I felt like we had known each other for years. Oakey definitely stole the show for a while, and left a few kisses on my camera, he was such a sweetie!

Now it's story time! All of us pretty cold, I finished the ring shots and we went to say goodbye. Yet my car had somehow decided to automatically lock itself when I walked away (leaving the keys on the backseat as I just took my camera to photograph the ring!) leaving me very embarrassed! Well, Haley and AJ refused to let me freeze alone while the guy came to unlock me door, and we had a good hour and a half to bond, warming up in their car, and talk about wedding plans and how badly we all wanted pizza and beer! This was definitely one of my most embarrassing career moments, but I couldn't have asked for sweeter people to spend time with. We are all human and life happens (however, if this happened on a wedding day and I was without camera, don't doubt I wouldn't be breaking my window haha). They even still decided afterward that we had so much fun that they wanted me to photograph their big day in September as well! These two are awesome, I can't wait for their wedding day!

Winter Engagement Session | Lincoln Woods Rhode Island | Ashley and Yi-Shan

Winter is the time of year when we New Englanders still drink our ice coffee, but hunker down when the snow hits unless we really have somewhere to go (for the most part anyway). We had a few days of absolute frigid cold a few weeks ago, but these Texas ladies wanted a snow filled engagement session since their wedding is taking place in warm, sunny Texas, so we had to go out and play! They chose Lincoln Woods State Park for its scenic woodland views, and the fact that it looks lovely snow covered. They glammed it up and rocked the cold, congratulations ladies!

Thanksgiving day has gone, Christmas is in the air (and on the radio), and the end of the year is quickly approaching. I'm, so thankful for all of the beautiful couples that have trusted my vision and allowed me to capture their most special moments! We've worked with and met so many adorable couples this year, and can't wait for the 2018 wedding season! You've probably heard me say this before, but I love Fall! The colors, the snuggles, the smells of pumpkin and apple (candles for the most part, unless my mom bakes!) it is all so comforting! 

One of our favorite (ok, their ALL my favorites!) Fall engagement was with Cassi and Mike at Mount Hope Farm, in the quaint seaside town of Bristol, RI. I love this location from its bright and cheery farmhouses, quintessential New England stone walls and history, and sweeping fields and trees. The foliage was near peak and we found the perfect area of bright leaves to create a cozy atmosphere. They even brought the most adorable plaid blanket to snuggle up in! I can't wait to capture their vows next Summer, congratulations Cassi and Mike, you two are just adorable!

Bridal Styled Shoot | New England Wedding Photographer

Assembling a team of creative minds to partake in creating something beautiful is one of the best things about being a photographer! After finding the perfect place for a styled bridal shoot at Bancroft Castle in Worcester, Massachusetts, I knew it would only be perfect to enlist the help of my favorite model/ makeup artist Jenn Pierce, my friend Briel Delmonaco of Uniquely Chic Vintage Rentals (http://uniquelychicvintage.com/), and assistant (and next bridal model) Samantha Bourbeau, to create the perfect romantic and early 1900's vibe. I've been wanting to shoot an Bancroft Castle for a very long time, since I saw how beautiful it was there, and between the gorgeous furniture from Uniquely Chic, lovely light, awesome location, and stunning flowers from The Flower Pot (http://www.theflowerpotri.com/) I'd say my first bridal shoot was a success and I can't wait for the next one coming up in August! Aurora and Tim's Newport Engagement Session | Rhode Island Engagement Photographer

I met Aurora and Tim down at the Cliff Walk in Newport, RI on a chilly Spring day (I had hoped it would have been warmer!) for their engagement session. They got engaged on New Years and are so excited to celebrate and were such good sports braving the wind, and boy was it windy! During Spring time Newport celebrates Daffodil Days, when the thousands (millions?!) of daffodils bloom all over town. There are lots of festivities (including a rhode race and a doggy parade!) and beauty of viewing the daffodils in bloom. Besides the iconic Cliff Walk, I wanted to take these two to stroll though the Daffys! The field of blooms at Easton's Beach was in full color, bright and cheerful. There are small paths through the field that allow people to walk through them and experience being surrounded by flowers. Congrats Aurora and Tim! 

Rhode Island and Cape Cod Wedding Photographer | Kristin and John | The Lighthouse Inn

I'm always up for an adventure and exploring new places, a wedding by the sea as summer ends was a wonderful way to end the season. Kristin and John were married right by the ocean at the Lighthouse Inn in Dennis, MA  (Cape Cod). Since they love being by the ocean this venue was perfect, from its seaside charm and beautiful lighting. The cabins for the couple to get ready in were just adorable, it would be so much fun to stay here by the sea! We decided last minute to do a first look, and the docks by the ocean made the perfect backdrop for this as well as family and bridal party photos. Engagement Session

I've always wanted to do a shoot in this gorgeous patch of open space in Narragansett right next to Narrow River. So when Kristin and John decided to do an engagement session I knew it would be the perfect place. One, because it's beautiful and near the beach, and two, because there is river access where these two paddle board all the time and they wanted to incorporate their favorite pastime (and how he proposed!) into their session. Perfection! The light was gorgeous just as I expected and it was so difficult narrowing it down to my favorites. Next up will be their wedding!
